Selected Nordic Design II


This publication highlights important pieces such as ceramic works by the renowned Finnish artist Birger Kaipiainen. An impressive chandelier from 1946 by the Danish artist Olaf Stæhr-Nielsen designed for restaurant Wivex in the Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen. A very rare Academy cabinet from The School of Architecture at the Royal Academy by Poul Kjærholm and several pieces by the Danish couple, Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen.

Finn Juhl was one of the seminal figures of the more organic variant of Modernism, and his close partnership with master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder resulted in superb execution of his daring sculptural constructions and carefully designed details. ’
