Poul Kjærholm

Pair of ‘PK25’ chairs

Designed 1951

In 1951 Kjærholm was a student at The School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen under the guidance of Hans Wegner who taught there at the time. Wegner assigned his students a graduation project of furnishing the living room of a well-known Danish architect. Kjærholm chose Halldor Gunnløgsson and designed an unusual chair he initially called the ‘Element’ chair.
