Kaj Gottlob (1887-1976) was a trained architect and in 1924 he became a professor himself at the Royal Academy, the same year as the first department of furniture design was established under the leadership of Kaare Klint. In 1936 he was appointed as Royal building inspector and the legacy of his work is still a vital presence in Danish architecture.
