Swedish textile artist Märta Måås-Fjetterström (1873-1941) was one of the pioneers of 20th century textile design, renowned for her hand-woven rugs and tapestries that combine artistic significance with an outstanding material quality. Måås-Fjetterström graduated from the School of Industrial Arts in Stockholm in 1895. After a career at the weaving studio at the Lund Museum of Cultural History and a position as director of the Malmöhus County Handicraft Association she founded her own textile workshop in the little town of Båstad in 1919.
