Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) was one of the pioneers of functionalism in Denmark and several of his buildings are listed as national cultural heritage. After completing his studies at the Architectural School in Copenhagen Lauritzen founded his own studio in 1922. He primarily took on architectural assignments and his output as a furniture designer is thus quite limited and the pieces, often designed for specific buildings, are often rare or unique.
