Artist Wilhelm Kåge (1889 – 1960) was a leading figure in the field of 20th century ceramics. In 1917 he was employed by the Swedish porcelain company Gustavsberg as artistic director. In his first years at Gustavsberg, Kåge was in charge of a thorough renewal of the company’s pottery production. In 1942 he established the renowned Gustavsberg Studio, where he made a name for himself through his illustrious ceramic designs.
